This is like a shelter for homeless people 18-24 years old, they are doing a great job but, like most other programs of a similar nature it's too small and underfunded to meet the needs we have to deal with. As with PATH I did pass out some voter registration forms, the 18-24 age group really needs to get out the vote! The polling station is right across the Hollywood Freeway at the Helen Bernstein High School on election day. Also I would like to see this group of 18-24 residents encouraged to complete their Associate's Degrees at the City College at the very least.

They’re nice. I don’t like how the office for the housing interview is in a seperate building though.

These people were helpful to me when I needed it. I wasn't a resident of the Covenant House and they still let me use the computer/printer. I didn't give 5 stars because I haven't experienced the room situation. The reason I decided not to move in was because you cannot bring a car. I didn't want to have absolutely nothing by selling my humble abode so I made other housing arrangements. Other than that, I would have moved in. The kindness in the short amount of time that I visited was very sweet and accepted.

Covenant House is by far the best shelter I have found for Transition Age Youth 18-24. From their Outreach team, on-site youth support staff to their management and executive directors, they facilitate a hospitable and supportive environment that fosters individual growth. People are treated as who they are or are capable of becoming, with complete dignity and respect. My favorite feature of Covenant House is that it feels like staff are "family" in a sense that they really care about each individual and are very organized in their day to day operations. Upper management has a very strong on-site presence to ensure operational success and ultimately, resident success! Thank you, Covenant House - California, for being a leading shelter, lifting individuals up from the streets and onto the pathway to future success.

Awesome place for young adults to grow into there future, I won't pass judgment but if you are serious about your well-being than this is the place for you, but if all you want to do is use drugs and kick it believe me you want last very long because it will catch up to you fast. This shelter works for young adults that want to better themselves.

Amazing place with amazing mission. That's all I can really say. They really care about their residents and actually have tons of success stories. Definitely a place where they help people get the skills necessary to lead a full life. Services are only for teens and very young adults (age 18 I believe).

I am a Covenant House Alumni and I had stayed there from late 2010 (age 19) to early 2012 (age 20). I am used to structured environments and that is exactly what The Cov is. During my time there, I gained access to many resources and opportunities; independent housing was one of them. They did help me get on my feet and become the successful woman I am today. Currently, I work with a nonprofit organization and am so eager to help people because The Covenant House made that possible for me. Thank you!

Just reading the comments have me scratching my head. The covenant house has great programs for young adults ages 19-23. They offer free bus passes, food, shelter and so much more. The only people who seem to have a problem with are the ungratefuls.

Covenant House is a homeless shelter for youth between the ages of 18-20. This shelter provides same-day shelter for any youth seeking short-term to long-term stability in a productive enviroment. Youth who enter this program are not required to live here and may leave whenever they desire. The program has a transitional housing building where youth who have followed the shelter requirments may live in an apartment as they continue to attend school or work. Covenant house is not for youth who wish to walk in and out as they please but is a place for young spirits who wish to take their feet off the sidewalk.
